HBO’s The Wire follows the drug scene of Baltimore. What starts off as a seemingly straight forward cops vs kingpins show develops into an incredible critique of the systems which keep the cycle of drugs and violence in the city flowing, and hamper efforts to initiate change for the betterment of Maryland’s inhabitants.

Perhaps the most iconic character in The Wire is Omar Little, the legendary hood stick up man who robs drug dealers.Omar has a beef with the Barksdales, led by Avon Barksdale and Stringer Bell. Eventually, Omar kills Stringer - with Brother Mouzone - but interestingly, Idris Elba, who played Stringer, refused to film the death scene the way it was originally shot. Let's discuss...
