Deploy Payload CMS to the Edge with Cloudflare Workers (Full Guide)
In this video, I'll show you how to deploy a full Payload project to Cloudflare using their official integration.
I build a simple blog with posts, categories, media, rich text, and blocks, and then deploy everything to Cloudflare’s edge using Workers, D1 (SQLite), and R2 object storage.
This is a full, real-world setup so you'll see exactly how everything fits together from local development to production.
Note: This setup requires a paid Cloudflare Workers plan due to bundle size limits.
🚀 What You’ll Learn:
How I create a Payload project configured for Cloudflare
How I set up collections (posts & categories)
How I use Cloudflare Workers, D1, and R2 together
How I render content with Next.js (built into Payload)
How I deploy using Wrangler and run migrations
Key limitations and production considerations
Chapters:
00:00 Intro
00:33 Project Overview (Blog + Stack)
01:28 Create Payload App (Cloudflare D1)
02:43 Configure Collections & Payload Setup
04:31 Set Up Cloudflare (Wrangler, D1, R2)
06:22 Local Dev + Admin Setup
07:30 Render Content with Next.js
11:14 Deploy to Cloudflare
12:54 Final Result + Key Considerations
