PlateWriter 2000 CTP Platemaker
PlateWriter 2000 - Press ready aluminum plates - no chemical processing
The PlateWriter™2000 is the industry's first inkjet Computer-to-Plate system capable of producing press-ready aluminum plates without the use of chemical processing. The PlateWriter™2000 inkjet Computer-to-Plate system is an innovative technology that sets new standards in the cost, flexibility and speed of offset printing for small to medium format printing. The PlateWriter™ Series boast innovative technology and sets new standards for the cost, flexibility and speed of plate making for small to medium format commercial printers.
An inexpensive alternative to film and conventional processors
The Harlequin RIP software quickly and efficiently readies your files for print - so you get the most out of your time and your plates
An all inclusive solution including everything from the imaging engine and finishing unit with automated gumming station, to the Harlequin RIP with its own powerful hardware platform - without extra cost or space requirements
There is no need for a processor, oven, rinse unit or conveyors
Easy to use and maintain
No need for skilled operators or special conditions - the plates are neither thermal nor light sensitive
Can be placed in your regular office environment
Glunz & Jensen iCtP business
Unlike the subtractive process of conventional plate making, Glunz & Jensen's iCtP™ uses an additive approach. Advanced inkjet technology jets a patented Liquid Dot™ formulation onto the plate to add the areas we want to be oleophilic on the printing press. The plate passes through the iCtP Finishing unit to bond the image on to the plate. There is no light or thermally sensitive coatings associated with conventional CtP, so there is no coating to remove thus no processor and no need for processing chemistry. The simple, no-fuss approach to imaging directly onto plates makes iCtP plate makers easy to use and environmentally friendly. The lack of film in the plate making process provides for a number of cost advantages as there is no need for a film processor and its associated chemistry and there is no requirement for the manual planning of films prior to plate making. And ultimately, digitally color separated plates are so accurate that make-ready times are significantly reduced.
