Avery, MacLeod, and McCarty 1944 experiment

A description of the experiment by Avery, MacLeod, and McCarty that supported the hypothesis that DNA was the genetic material. They used Streptococcus pneumoniae cells, showing that DNAse eliminated the ability of a cell extract to cause transformation of live cells to a different antigenic type. This is a lecture from a 100-level introductory cell bio and genetics class at Southeast Missouri State University.
