Homemade 5-ingredient Peasant Bread! 4/6 Mini, Yeasted, No-knead bread loaves
Y’all, I am so sorry, I messed up…. I didn’t show a clip of me slicing into the bread at the end because I was giving these 5 mini-loaves away. 🍞 Don’t worry though, I will make this bread again very soon and show y’all the cross-section next time!
This recipe is so simple though, even my 12-year-old makes homemade bread by herself!! This is also a fun recipe to experiment with. Try adding your favorite seasonings or add-ins like roasted garlic, olives, cheese and herbs.  Or even go sweet instead of savory with the addition of vanilla, honey, cinnamon, or dried fruits and nuts. Hope y’all enjoy!
Peasant Bread 🥖
Yields 5 mini loaves or 1 big loaf or 2 med loaves
4 c. AP Flour
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
1 packet instant yeast
2 c. Water
1. Mix all dry ingredients together, add water.
2. Mix until a dough ball forms. Cover with towel and proof in a cold oven with the oven light on for 90 minutes.
3. Release dough from bowl drizzle olive oil and turned out to coat. Turn out dough into cutting board with some flour so it doesn’t stick. Cut and shape into loaves. Put into buttered tins.
4. Proof again for 30 minutes.
5. Take out loaves. Preheat oven to 425. Bake loaves for seven minutes. Drop temperature to 375 and bake an additional 15 minutes.
6. Remove from oven. Cool before slicing.
