Helman Tor - Between Bodmin & Luxulyan Cornwall

Helman Tor is a granite hill situated approximately half way between Bodmin and Luxulyan village in mid Cornwall. The hill has an ancient monument and is designated as a county geology site. The site is managed by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and encompasses Breney Common, a special area of conservation, and Red Moor. Helman Tor, Breney Common, Red Moor and Belowda Beacon are part of the Mid Cornwall Moors. There are plans to “rewild” the area with Cornish Black Pigs, Long Horn Cattle and possibly Beavers. The tor is adjacent to the Saint’s Way, a 27 mile route signed with Celtic cross markers from Padstow to Fowey.
