Prof. Robert Wade discusses industrial policy - Rethinking the State

Prof. Robert Wade (London School of Economics, UK) discusses industrial policy, the challenges of economic development for emerging countries like Brazil and China, and the neglected side of East Asian industrial development.

'Rethinking the State' is a video project coordinated by Prof. Mariana Mazzucato (SPRU/University of Sussex). The project is funded by two research grants by the Ford Foundation and INET. Every Wednesday, for 10 weeks (27/3/13 - 22/5/13), we will be airing interviews with international economists who have a critical understanding of the relationship between the State, finance, innovation, and growth. And on how to get out of the austerity trap. This interview has been recorded in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) during a workshop on innovation and development policy at the Brazilian State Development Bank (BNDES).

Stay tuned!
