Historic moments in boxing - the most brutral three rounds ever

On April 15, 1985, undisputed middleweight champion Marvin Hagler faced the explosive challenger Thomas Hearns at Caesars Palace.

There was no feeling-out process. From the opening bell, Hearns unleashed devastating combinations, while Hagler marched forward through fire. In the first round alone, both men traded punches with reckless intensity, creating what many call the greatest opening round in boxing history.

Blood streamed down Hagler’s face, but he refused to slow down. Hearns’ power was real — but so was the champion’s pressure.

By round three, the pace had taken its toll. Hagler closed the distance, landed a crushing right hand, and sent Hearns to the canvas.

Three rounds. Eight minutes. A war that became legendary.
