Part 2 of Leper here!
We have so little of this song left that I thinking I'll probably do part 3 for the next video, and then we can go ahead and finish Puppets after that!
Also do let me know what you think about adding the "P" to the tabs so that you know when to do palm mutes!
Do you like it? Would you prefer it be written in a different way?
Let me know in the comments!
Tabs Glossary:
- Reading the tabs is with the strings from the bottom to the top. The low E (6th string) is the bottom string, and the high e (1st string) is the top one (you can also just check the notes at the left side If you prefer that).
- *h* - This signifies a Hammer On. (Ex: 4h5 - you would need to hammer on from fret 4 to 5)
- *p* - This signifies a Pull Off. (Ex: 5p0 - you would need to pull off from fret 5 to an open string)
- If you see "h" & "p" in combination (like 0h2h3p2p0), you would need to pick only once (starting from the open string in this example), while playing all the other notes through Hammer Ons and Pull Offs.
- */* - This signifies a Slide, both up and down. (Ex: 5/8 - Here you need to slide up from fret 5 to 8. If It was "8/5", you would need to slide down from 8 to 5.
If you see a note without a previous fret number, like "/12", It means that you can slide up or down to the note from a fret of your choosing.
If you only see the */* sign, that means that you have to slide from "whatever fret to whatever fret" of your choosing.
- *(9)* - A note in between brackets means that the note is a "Ghost Note", which means that you can play or not play that note, depending on your liking.
- *X* - If you see an "X" on the tabs, It means that you have to play a muted fret on that string.
-*b* - This signifies a Bend. For example, If It says "14b16", It means that you need to bend from fret 14 to 16. If you see "14b16b14", then It means that you would need to play the 14th fret and bend up to 16, then bend that note back down to 14 (so you return to a not bending note). And much like the hammer ons and pull offs example, this is all in only one pick strum.
- The "P" below the strings tabs means that the note should be Palm Muted. When you see the "(P)" between brackets, the same rule of the "Ghost Notes" applies here; you don't need to play the note palm muted, but can do so if you'd like or prefer it better.
Basically, a "Ghost Palm Mute".
If I missed anything or you have feedback on how clear (or not) this explanations are, let me know in the comments. Constructive criticism is much appreciated!
