Nellie Partow has built a reputation for designing clothing that combines refined minimalism with a distinctly effortless and alluring approach.
Partow enrolled at the San Francisco State University where she graduated with a degree in business, followed by a degree in fashion design from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
While still at Parsons, Partow accepted an opportunity to work alongside senior designers at Donna Karan where she was exposed to the inner workings of the industry at the highest level of quality, design and workmanship. Upon graduation from Parsons, Partow landed her first position at Calvin Klein. Nellie also gained insight, edge, and experience designing at John Varvatos.
While Partow was busy working on a fashion career she was also hard at work on another passion of hers; competitive boxing. "I started boxing when I was 14 years old," explains Partow.
Such was Partow's love of the sport she committed herself to an intense training regime. "I trained 6 days a week," says Partow, "fitting in runs before heading to the office and 3 hour workouts after a full day of designing." After much dedication and considerable skill, Partow found herself in 2007 vying for the NYC Daily News Golden Glove Title, considered by boxing aficionados to be one of the most elite titles. That night Partow was victorious taking home the title and proving to those around her that there wasn't anything she couldn't do if she set her mind to it. "Winning the Golden Gloves and getting to compete in front of a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden was incredible," says Partow.
