From Pink Martini's July 23, 2022 concert at the Festival Castell de Peralada in beautiful Peralada, Spain, this live performance features one of the band's most popular, indelible hits, "Hang On Little Tomato", a perfect hopeful anthem for our times. Written by bandleader Thomas M. Lauderdale, lead singer China Forbes, and their friend Patrick Abbey, the song was the title track of the band's second studio album, 2004's "Hang On Little Tomato," and has been an audience favorite ever since its debut. The song's concept and message were taken from a 1964 "Life" Magazine ad for Hunt's Catsup. This performance features Pink Martini trombonist Antonis Andreou playing the introductory solo, which was originally played on the album by clarinetist, former Oregon Symphony Pops conductor, famed jazz arranger, and dear friend Norman Leyden.
