'Pakistan's Fight Against Extremism Must Start With Education'

Pakistan has become fertile ground for radicalisation and extremism, and the government's move to enforce one education policy with a lot of focus on religion, will only deepen sectarian fissures and make it even more difficult to make the country 'normal'.

In this conversation on StratNewsGlobal, Prof. Ayesha Jalal of Tufts University, says that young people in Pakistan are like those in any other part of the world. They are aspirational, have dreams, want to improve their skills but are constrained by a dysfunctional education system. Worse still, private and autonomous universities and educational institutions are being brought under the ambit of the new education policy, which could spell disaster for future generations.

Tune in to this conversation with Prof. Jalal in the third and final part of our three part series on Pakistan, and let us know what you thought about it.
