Bikepacking the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri

In September 2018 I set out to ride the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri bikepacking route. I got all the info from http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/alta-via-dei-monti-liguri/, including the gpx for the route.
The route is 500 km long, but features 20 000m of ascent. Also, the terrain in quite challenging, with a lot of pushing/carrying over steep rocky trails.
Luckily, the rewards for all the hard work were also plentiful. Amazing views, great wild camping, friendly people, and last but not least, the amazing Ligurian food, were some of the things that had me hardly wait to start riding each morning.
I finished the route in 13 days of riding. I also took a rest day in the amazingly charming small town of Sassello.

The bike I rode was my Norco Sight, onto which I pipe-clamped some Blackburn Outpost cages, and also a few bottle cages to get the desired water-carrying capacity.
