Post COVID-19: What should Korea prepare for? (포스트 코로나, 한국은 무엇을 준비해야 하는가?)

The coronavirus which broke out last December is spreading all over the world at a rapid pace. Borders have been closed and the social system has come to a standstill because of the pandemic. The IMF predicted that the global growth for 2020 will see a contraction of -4.9%. Airline industries are on the brink of bankruptcy and manufacturing companies have shut down. COVID-19 has brought about many changes in our lives, health, society and even governmental policies. Businesses are expected to undergo structural changes. The structure of governments and societies and consumption patterns have also changed. Most people are abiding by the social distancing measures to avoid the virus. Mankind is facing new changes during the pandemic. We call the changes caused by COVID-19 'new normal.' We take a closer look at the 'new normal' life in Korea and the changes in society caused by COVID-19.

지난해 12월 집단 발병으로 시작된 코로나 바이러스는 폭발적인 전염성을 보이며
전 세계로 퍼져나갔다. 팬데믹 현상으로 전 세계 국경이 닫히고 사회시스템이 멈춰버렸다. IMF는 전 세계 2020년 성장률을 유래 없는 -4.9%로 전망했다. 항공 산업은 도산을 눈앞에 두고 있고 제조업은 셧다운 됐다. 코로나19는 국민 생활, 보건, 사회, 정부 정책에 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 비즈니스 분야에도 구조적 변화가 예상된다. 정부의 형태와 사회의 구조, 사람들의 소비형태도 바뀌어 가고 있다. 그 대표적인 예가 바이러스를 피하기 위해 사람들이 사회적 거리두기를 실천 하고 있다. 코로나가 불러온 새로운 변화 앞에 인류가 서 있는 셈이다. 코로나가 불러온 변화, 우리는 그것을 New Normal이라고 말한다. 바이러스가 변화시킨 새로운 사회의 모습들 , 코로나 이후의 한국의 New Normal을 살펴본다.
