Nuclear Powerhouse Behind Half the World's Reactors Files for U.S. IPO #Westinghouse #Cameco #IPO

Nuclear technology and services firm Westinghouse Electric confidentially filed a draft S-1 with the SEC for a proposed U.S. IPO, owners Cameco (49%) and Brookfield Renewable Partners (51%) said Friday.

Share count and price range remain undetermined, and the offering is subject to market conditions.

Cameco and Brookfield acquired Westinghouse in 2023 for roughly $8B total enterprise value.

More than half the world's 417 operating nuclear reactors use Westinghouse technology, and the company has a pipeline of up to 91 opportunities for its latest AP1000 reactor.

Last year, Westinghouse and its owners signed an agreement with the Commerce Department for U.S. government-arranged financing and approvals covering at least $80B in Westinghouse-powered reactors.
