1949 Cadillac Club Coupe (Series 61 Sedanette)

THE WORLD'S FIRST CAR WITH FINS... The first Harley Earl-designed post-war Cadillac with the new modern V8 engine was advertised as "The World's Most Distinguished Motor Car." The design was inspired by the Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter aircraft of WWII. v This car was originally delivered to "Mrs. Estes of Houston," then taken to California by a Korean War pilot who converted it to a glider launch winch that was used for years at Hollister Field. In 2006, the worn and ragged car was fully restored by an 80-year-old raspberry farmer, who added power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. The car returned home to Houston in 2021 for lots of fun and show.
