Supreme Court On Waqf: 'Having 2 Non-Muslims...' Centre's Big Statement | SC Hearing On Waqf Act

Waqf is an Islamic concept, but it is not an essential part of Islam, Centre told SC. Centre said this while defending the Waqf Amendment Act that has sparked protests and promoted legal action. Solicitor General Mehta also said Waqf is for charity and a Waqf board only discharges secular functions. Countering the petitioner's arguments against including non-Muslim members in Waqf bodies he said 'Having 2 Non-Muslims, what will it change? It is not touching any religious activity'.
