Product Review HO ScaleTrains C44-9W SP (has one error - see description)

This week Dan reviews an HO scale GE C44-9W locomotive from ScaleTrains. Southern Pacific's Dash 9's were built in 1994. GE delivered 101 units, numbered 8100-8200. These were among the last orders of new locomotives before the SP was merged into the Union Pacific in late 1996.

Part of the ScaleTrains Rivet Counter line, this model train is loaded with detail, and comes with an ESU LokSound DCC and sound decoder pre-installed. The engine is painted in SP's "Speed Lettering" scheme, reminiscent of the Rio Grande.

Dan evaluates the model's packaging, prototype accuracy, paint & detail, and how well it operates and conforms to applicable standards. This product review and unboxing also includes a RIP Track segment, where Dan does a little work on the engine.

If you're a fan of Southern Pacific or modern era HO scale motive power be sure to check this one out!

PS - There is an error in this video regarding the locomotive's flashing ditch lights being incorrect. They are in fact correct for this locomotive.
