UNBOXING / SET UP / AND REVIEW OF PHOTOBOOTHSTARTUP'S PHOTOBOOTH!
Read the description for all the details and links!
EVERYTHING YOU NEED:
- Photobooth $999.99
http://www.photoboothstartup.com
(Use Promo Code "DJJOSH" To Save $50!)
- iPad Mini, iPad 9.7", Pro 9.7", Pro 10.5", or Pro 12.9"
Here's the difference in front Facetime cameras...
iPad Pro:
2017 12.9" and 10.5" iPad Pro - 7MP with Retina Flash
2016 9.7 iPad Pro - 5MP with Retina Flash (This is what i own)
2015 12.9" iPad Pro 1.2MP
iPad:
2017 iPad - 1.2MP
iPad Air 2 - 1.2MP
iPad Air - 1.2MP
iPad 2012 - 1.2MP
I wouldn't consider using anything older than the 2012 iPad due to OS limitations.
iPad Mini:
All iPad Minis have a 1.2MP facetime camera.
I'm not saying the 1.2MP cameras suck, but I would strongly suggest looking for a pro with a 5MP or 7MP Facetime Camera.
Consider buying used, and also consider buying one with Cellular so you won't need a hotspot if you use social media, texting, or email with your photobooth. If you already have a major carrier and phone plan, you can probably lease an iPad and get data very cheap. Cricket make great pay as you go options and use AT&T service, which is what I've been using for my iPad. If I get a month without using it, I can always not pay for cellular that month or lower my plan.
- Photobooth software. There's TONS to try and demo, I'm a fan of Simple Booth's Event Edition and Halo apps. They're easy to set up, don't crash, and simple to use with texting, email, social media, and online galleries.
- Grab a 6' Table and Table Skirt From Amazon ($50)
- Spend $50 to get you started on Props on Amazon, etsy, or your favorite Prop/Novelty Store (I LOVE Party City)
- Canon SELPHY CP1200 Wireless Photo Printer ($100)
This is a great starter printer. It prints slow and requires you to cut sheets from 4x6 to 2x6, but you can upgrade later! You can buy 300 paper and ink for $100 which is a good cost to have ready for a 3-4 hour event.
There's some cool road cases on Amazon for this!
And there you go... an open air style photobooth for about $1200 plus an iPad which you may already own!
Upgrades for later down the road...
- A backdrop!
You can buy a backdrop support system, muslin clamps, and fabric on Amazon for less than $100.
- A professional printer!
DNP WPS Wireless Printing $200
DNP DS-RX1HS Photo Printer $500
This will speed up your prints from 45 seconds to around 10 or less... and cut your paper for you! The costs "per print" with paper and ink is also cheaper! A spool of paper holds around 700 prints!
- A canopy for completely enclosed photobooth!
http://a.co/6F2eQk6 $300
- Better props generally have a lot less wear and tear
- Scrim King if you like the look of a scrim on the booth.
