The Roman Baths is one of the largest tourist attractions in South West England. This short video shows 'The Terrace' which overlooks the Great Bath and is lined with statues of Roman Governors of Britain, Roman Emperors and military leaders. At the heart of the site is the Sacred Spring. Hot water at a temperature of 46°C rises here at the rate of 1,170,000 litres per day. The Spring overflow (an underground drain with an orange hue) is where surplus water from the Spring, not used in the baths, flows out to a Roman drain. The 'Great Bath' is the centrepiece of the Roman baths. It is lined with 45 sheets of lead, and filled with hot spa water.
