The video I didn’t know I needed in 2021.

It was January 2019 when I started playing “Home” on repeat, on a surprise trip home in Hanoi to see my parents just before the Lunar New Year (okay let’s face it I know it was more than that). It was the start of a new life in Melbourne for our household of three, and all the feelings and emotions that came with it that made my heart still race every time the first few chords play. I wouldn’t change a thing about 2019, even though Bruno’s “I’ll see you soon” did not materialise 🌝

This pandemic and every craziness that is going on the world reminded us how fleeting life was and always is. Here’s a little reminiscence of the life before COVID - or at least the better parts of it, you know, having an intimate time with an artist you can recognise from one note. After the show I told Bruno we bought 4 tickets to see him in Brisbane (and didn’t make the trip) then 4 tickets in Melbourne (and the people I wanted to see him with all had to be away). So I came alone and ask two other friends to come last minute. It made me treasure every single second even more. Bruno’s response? “Why the hell did you do that?!?”

There are only so many moments, feelings, songs, in your life that incessantly touches you over and over again without fail. I appreciate this songsmith for his talents for all of that.
Now half the world away and across the oceans, it’s still loud and clear. I’m still here to see you home.
