Webinar: Gerrymandering: What to Expect in 2021 and How to Avoid it in 2031

What’s gerrymandering and what to expect when there are partisans drawing the lines. FairVote senior fellow David Daley will speak with Professor Michael Latner, senior fellow at the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Center for Science and Democracy; Carlos Ochoa, communications director with More Equitable Democracy; and Carolyn Fiddler, communications director of the Daily Kos talked about which state lines to watch, why independent commissions are one great solution to preventing partisan gerrymandering, and what policy solutions could make gerrymandering obsolete in the future.

The discussion also centers around the connection between reforms like the Fair Representation Act which incorporates larger, multi-member districts as a way to discourage and prevent gerrymandering.
