Rangers 2 Aberdeen 0: Rohl's Rangers rise hits new heights as Aberdeen swatted

On Saturday they got Wilfried Nancy fired. And now, Rangers have shot themselves above Celtic to go clear second in the Scottish Premiership table.

Emmanuel Fernandez and Nicolas Raskin were the marksmen against Aberdeen at Ibrox. Two bullet headers ensured Danny Rohl’s side got rid of the Dons - and put a target on the back of leaders Hearts.

Rohl said after their Old Firm derby win he was now hunting the Jambos. And Rangers are now breathing down their necks after recording their fourth straight league win - the first time they’ve done that in 13 months.

By moving within three points of the Tynecastle club, they fired out another warning to the rest of the league that their title challenge is genuine. This result was never in any real doubt against Aberdeen, who sacked their gaffer on Sunday.
