So I bought a Semi Truck! 1960 Vintage Iron Kenworth Build & Restoration Part 2.

Second part of a multi series, stay tuned for frequent new episodes! Today going over the sloppy shifter mechanism, removal of the frame extensions and starting up open-manifold! After many years of wanting to buy a classic old semi truck, I finally got my chance. This is a 1960 Kenworth, chassis type W925. Originally from New Mexico its in exceptional condition for its age! The front nose assembly is made of fiberglass, frame rails are all aluminum and so is the complete cab. Rear suspension is actually torsion bar which was suppose to ride a bit smoother in the days prior to air-ride. Equipped with two transmissions, this is a twin stick (dual shifters). The engine inside is the famous faithful workhorse, Detroit 8V-71. Lots of work ahead with this ol' boy!!
