The TV show's main theme is under 2 minutes in length. It's quite long for a TV opener by today's standards, but still short for an epic, orchestral piece.

Despite the main theme being confined to just 1 minute and 43 seconds, Ramin Djawadi, for the past 5 soundtrack releases of the TV series, has incorporated the melodies of the main theme into different songs in the soundtracks.

This rendition of the main theme, as performed by Ateneo Blue Symphony Orchestra, attempts to combine elements of soundtrack songs that utilize the main theme's melodies and motifs into one, cohesive piece lasting over 6 minutes.
