Polish pilots completed their first training with FA-50 aircraft
Polish pilots completed training in South Korea with the FA-50 training and light attack aircraft ordered by Poland.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak announced that the first Polish pilots had completed the initial training in South Korea. Minister Błaszczak said, “ Polish pilots completed their training in South Korea. Soon, the pilots will return home, they will take delivery of the FA-50 aircraft, which entered the equipment of the air force, and they will start flights in our airspace.” said. In the trainings, trainings were carried out in areas such as the use of the FA-50 fighter aircraft, air combat and prevention.
The General Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced in a communiqué that the pilots completed their training one and a half months ahead of schedule. The statement also added, “The pilots will soon return to Poland to accept the FA-50 aircraft. In the future, training of another improved and better-armed version of the FA-50PL will begin. According to the agreement made by the two countries, the aircraft will be delivered in 2025 .
The first two FA-50 aircraft supplied will be delivered to Poland in August of this year by Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI). The launch of the aircraft to be delivered will take place at the air show scheduled for August in Radom, Poland.
South Korea and Poland reached an agreement on 16 September 2022 for the supply of FA-50 aircraft. According to the agreement, Poland will procure a total of 48 FA-50 trainer and light attack aircraft. The total amount of the supply agreement between the two countries is 3 billion dollars. The supplied aircraft is targeted to be delivered to Poland by 2028. The first 12 aircraft and spares are scheduled to be delivered to Poland by 2025.
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is scheduled to deliver 12 FA-50GF aircraft to Poland by the end of this year, after completing flight tests that are expected to last until next month.
