GHMC Bankrupt? Govt Withdraws Rs 2000 Cr | Employees' Salaries at Risk? | Hyderabad Financial Crisis

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is facing a severe financial crunch after the Telangana government reportedly withdrew Rs 2000 crore from its accounts. These funds were previously allocated to restart stalled development projects in Hyderabad. GHMC had already planned and earmarked Rs 1000 crore for various ongoing works, assuming the funds would remain intact.

Due to changes from the Dharani portal, revenue from property mutations is now going to the Registration Department instead of GHMC. Although the government had released Rs 3000 crore in January 2025, the sudden reversal of Rs 2000 crore has left GHMC with an almost empty account — raising serious concerns about paying salaries to its employees next month.

Is this a sign of a deeper financial crisis in Telangana? How will GHMC manage its responsibilities with no funds? Full details in the video.
