Making mooncakes with my Chinese mother-in-law! We celebrated mid-autumn festival yesterday - and here is a video of I and my mother-in-law making traditional Qinghai mooncakes. They are nothing like the common mooncakes you usually find around China!

My husband also talks about the tradition in his village to go "steal" mooncakes and fruit from the tables where people offer to the moon. We also go out on a little tour in the village at night, and see loads of little "thieves". I hope traditions like this don't die out - and that's also something we discuss in the video!

This was the first time for me to cook Chinese mooncakes, and I am always happy to learn from all my mother-in-law, she is a great cook.
