We did have a very sharp correction in India’s growth and consumption after the Covid lockdowns. The lockdowns were quite severe. They dented economic activity quite substantially. Thankfully, the vaccines arrived. Then growth recovered very sharply thereafter because of pent-up demand, partly because the pace of the GDP had become quite low after the Covid-induced and the lockdown-induced correction. A lot of monetary stimulus was thrown globally, and that meant that Indian financial conditions were very easy for two to three years.
