VTMB was ambitious title that got rushed out the door in late 2004 during one of the busiest times in gaming. Released the same day as Half-Life 2 in November 2004, Vampire Bloodlines didn't sell many units, was rushed out the door and its developer Troika was dissolved a few months later. However, while Troika faced its final death, Bloodlines did not.

As time passed, fans fixed it up and its strengths started to shine and became a cult favorite.
