The Midcity District is made up of several different esoteric areas and none more so than one area known as The Camp. The Midcity Camp is a laid back coffee and drink type of place which made this Urban Hiking micro adventure so fun!
This is how their own website describes the Midcity Distrcit The Camp:
"Sitting at the gateway of MidCity, The Camp is Huntsville’s coolest outdoor destination. Yes, we have food. Rotating seasonal menus straight from the incredible Chef Ruth herself! Drinks? Beer, cocktails, wine, you name it. A huge outdoor space to explore? Indeed. Coffee shop made of shipping containers? Duh, The Greenroom is there for all your caffeine needs. Live music? Oh hell yes, discover your new jams here. Unique events and Insta-ops? We attract the type. Dog, kid, neighbor, grandma friendly? Definitely. It’s easy to find yourself at The Camp all day. The Camp sits at the doors of MidCity District, an 140-acre mixed use development in North Alabama. At MidCity, a finely balanced mix of uses will surround parks, plazas, and walkable streets. In all, patrons, residents and visitors will find +/-450,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment; +/-350,000 square feet of tech-office space; up to 1,200 residential units; and +/-550 hotel rooms, adjacent to the only activated adventure park in the Tennessee Valley. The parks, live entertainment, and recreational elements are the focal points for the Project. The 40-acre Public Park integrates a functional lake system along with the 8,500 seat regional outdoor Amphitheater, Top Golf, multi-purpose lawns, and the “Adrenaline Zone” that will host a variety of outdoor activities. A one-mile biking and running trail is planned to encircle the lake and recreational environment and connects with the City’s master greenway system and new bike paths."
