Morinaro Simpethar translated the "Lone white sail" by Lermontov into Quenya and Telerin, clearly keeping the thought of a very particular ship in mind.
I recalled a melody by Kris-Teyn Mortrenos that I heard about 30 years ago and thought it would fit it well, if adapted.
