AWS Tutorial for Beginners | Import Data From S3 into DynamoDB using Data Pipeline
What is S3?
Amazon Simple Storage Service(S3) is a cloud storage service exposed through Rest/HTTP/HTTPS. Simple Interface that helps to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any point of time, from anywhere on the web.
Below are the naming conventions in S3 bucket:
•No uppercase
•No underscore
•No IP
•3-63 characters long
•Start with a number or a lowercase character
S3 Lifecycle rules are the set of rules or protocols used to transfer data from one tier to another. For example, moving data from Infrequent Access to Glacier. It is used to save the storage cost. It is also used to delete incomplete uploads.
S3 lifecycle rules perform two types of actions:
•Transition action: It defines when the objects are moved to another storage
•Expiration action: It defines the expiration time of an object.
Benefits of S3:
•Industry-leading performance
•Cost-effective storage classes
•Unmatched security, compliance, and audit capabilities
•Easily data management and control access
•Query-in-place services for analytics
•Most supported cloud storage service
What is DynamoDB?
A fully managed, key-value, document database that is used to provide high performance with seamless scalability. It is capable of handling more than 10 trillion requests per day and can support peaks of more than 20 million requests per second.
Benefits of DynamoDB:
•Performance at scale
•No server required to manage
•Enterprise ready
