How I Made 8-Way Isometric Movement Work in Godot 4.5

Testing an 8-direction movement system in Godot 4.5 using a 2D tilemap and a 4-direction animated sprite sheet. The setup mimics Ultima Online–style isometric motion, with the character staying centered while the terrain scrolls underneath. I explain how the direction mapping works and why I chose a 2D approach instead of a 2.5D height-based setup.
