Dawn Totem with Dramatic sky in Cinema 4d // The Practice 134

Out of the rocky foothills emerges the Dawn totem, glowing in it's early morning majesty. We used simple primitives to model a landscape and create a monumental totem in cinema 4d. Then we used the physical sky object to add lighting, fog, atmosphere and clouds. I haven't experimented with the clouds feature much, but we use it to create a dramatic dawn sky for this scene. Then we texture and render, and retouch and color grade in photoshop.

This timelapse is about 1.75 hours of work sped up to about 21 minutes. Lower the speed to .25 in the video settings to watch at closer to normal speed.
