LIVE: Anti-government protests continue in Chisinau
Thousands of people are expected to rally again in front of the parliament building in Chisinau, Friday, in a continuation of recent large-scale protests against the new pro-European Union Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
Demonstrators stormed the parliament building on Wednesday evening during the swearing in of the new government. Police used batons and smoke grenades to push back the protesters. According to paramedics present during the evening, 15 people were injured.
Moldova's previous government, led by Liberal Democrat leader Valeriu Strelet, stepped down on October 29. If a new government is not approved by January 29, parliament will be dissolved and an early election will be called.
