La jabalina llama a los rayones mediante un gruñido bajo y contenido para que continúen la marcha. La principal protección de los jabatos es el mimetismo y la inmovilidad. Por eso ante la menor señal de peligro se quedan totalmente inmóviles hasta escuchar el reclamo de su madre.
