First, we have the PAM 655, a 42mm Radiomir 1940 with a white dial. 42mm is a far more wearable size than the 45mm Radiomirs that we most often think about. It's a stunning bit of design, in part because of the hyper-legible nature of the watch, and also because of just how clean and balanced everything is. The faux patina may turn some geeks off, but we happen to like it, so it gets a pass from us.
From there, we get into the PAM 974, their rose gold Luminor Submersible. This watch is a successor to the PAM 684, one of the first (if not the first) 42mm Submersibles, and wears really well for it. It makes use of Goldtec, a new mixture of rose gold which is a beautiful mixture of Rolex's Everose and Audemars Piguet's rose gold in terms of color. A matte black dial meets the matte black ceramic bezel to create a kind of subdued overall aesthetic. However, the 100m water resistance rating does betray the Luminor's historical use as a watch used by military divers.
Finally, we cover the 45mm Luminor Automatic, the PAM 943. The dial is a gorgeous brownish-grey, and is executed with a sandwich dial construction, where the top dial has a cut out for the markings, and a solid disk of lume underneath. This watch also features a power reserve indicator, as well as a date window at 3 o'clock. Unlike so many watch brands, here Panerai have executed the date beautifully. It isn't obtrusive, like many can be, and though it doesn't match the dial's shimmering brownish-grey, it does match the watch's desire for legibility.
