Neutrophil Extracellular Trap
The neutrophil is a powerful defender, ejecting a 'net' of DNA, histones, and anti-microbial agents to kill pathogenic invaders, but failure to remove fragments of these Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) can lead to autoimmune diseases.
