Miracle’s body is shutting down right in front of us. This sweet French Bulldog mix was found abandoned behind a Walgreens, crammed inside a box, so weak she could barely lift herself up. Her spine and ribs protrude sharply through her fragile skin, and scars cover her tiny body. The emergency medical team is fighting to stabilize dangerously high sodium levels that could turn fatal if not corrected slowly and carefully over the next several days. We are facing nearly $12,000 in emergency medical costs, and the painful reality is that we can’t save Miracle without help.

A concerned passerby spotted Miracle motionless inside a box behind a Walgreens. She appeared stiff and disoriented. When i Heart Animal Rescue arrived at the scene, we were horrified by the sight that greeted us. Miracle was too weak to stand properly. She was skin and bones. If she had been found even a few hours later, this story could have looked very different.

Thankfully, Miracle still showed interest in food. That tiny spark of survival told everyone involved that she wanted to fight. Cases this severe stay with you forever. It is impossible not to wonder how long she suffered alone before someone finally stopped to help, or what events could have led to her abandonment. Given her breed, her condition, and the circumstances in which she was found, we have every reason to believe she was dumped and left to die.

Our rescue immediately rushed Miracle into emergency treatment to save her life. She remains under intensive veterinary care as doctors scramble to stabilize her dangerously elevated sodium levels. Correcting sodium imbalance too quickly can be life-threatening, which means her treatment must move slowly and carefully over several days of constant monitoring. She is extremely emaciated, dehydrated, and physically exhausted. Just one day ago, she could barely stand at all. Even now, every small improvement feels fragile. Without continued hospitalization and supportive care, Miracle doesn’t stand a chance. And this is where we need YOUR help.

Veterinarians expect that Miracle will need at least five days of hospitalization before they can safely determine her long-term recovery plan. The estimate for this lifesaving care is already climbing toward $12,000. We have committed over $6,000 so far just to begin stabilizing Miracle, but our emergency medical budget is shrinking from back-to-back critical cases. We don’t have the means to keep going, but how could we walk away from Miracle? We refuse to give up on this brave girl after everything she has already endured.
