Verified fake. Not MPPT, not even PWM.
It regulates the same way a fridge does, switching the solar panel on or off. The decision is made every 100 milliseconds by turning the charger completely off for 5 milliseconds to measure the battery voltage. Then it will be on or off respectively for the next 95 milliseconds.

There is no attempt on a 2 or 3 stage charge algorithm. It just takes the battery to the set-point and turns off. If you set it for 13.9V, the battery will not ever be full, if you set it for 14.7V, it will wreck the battery in a few months. Further, the temperature measurement has no impact whatsoever on the charging. Somewhat because there IS no acceptance charge phase.

The connection is direct with no tracking, no conversion, no PWM. Notice that if the open voltage of the "solar cell" is 17V, I have 4V across the light bulb simulating solar panel resistance. If I turn it up to 30V, I have 17V across the light bulb. It is as crude as it can be.
