APRIL 20 - Who Will Become The Lion King Of Taigan?

Taigan has a long-standing tradition that was only broken in 2018. When days and nights become warm enough in the Crimean peninsula (usually in the middle of April), all the lions are released from their winter enclosures simultaneously. All male lions immediately start fighting with each other, to attain more land area, more females and the status of the King.

2018 was an exception because Oleg Zubkov decided to put many young lions into savannah. Since they are weaker, they would have probably been injured or even killed with the standard practice.

But in 2019, we will witness the traditional season opener on April 20. There will be a lot of journalists, free tours around the park, a concert in the evening.
