BFV - Glacier National Park Day 1 - Long Drive w/a Big Surprise, Trail of the Cedars/Avalanche Lake

🚙🏔️ Big Family Vacation (BFV) Day 4: Off to Glacier National Park and a HUGE surprise for the kids—it was a 6.5 hour, 400+ mile drive from Yellowstone to Glacier, but beautiful to drive through Wyoming, Idaho, and southern Montana. We even saw 80mph speed limits! Didn’t know those existed.

Quick summary:
-Left Yellowstone at 8am
-Drove through the countryside of WY, ID, and MT and by 100s of cows and horses and acres of wide open nothing. Loads of forest fire smoke too 🔥
-Swung by the Sharing Shack to pick up free supplies.
-Arrived to our cabin at 3pm and majorly surprised the kids when my parents were already inside! They were all thrilled!
-Did a load of laundry and got settled before heading into the park for a 5 mile hike on Trail of the Cedars and Avalanche Lake.
-Beautiful trail! Saw deer and so many chipmunks and birds. Enjoyed a leisurely pace and relaxed by the lake for a while.
-Dinner at the Glacier Highland Restaurant before crashing for bed.

Tomorrow? Boat tour of Lake McDonald and exploring the Going to the Sun Road ☀️
