I Built an OBSERVATORY in my Backyard!

I built an observatory in my backyard!
After many years of setting up my camera and telescope each night for astrophotography in the backyard, I finally have a permanent setup.
The observatory is a SkyShed POD XL5 (http://bit.ly/skyshedpod), a dome-style backyard observatory. The panels are all pre-made, but there is still an element of construction to the process.
I also built a 12' x 12' deck with a 4-foot concrete footing (with some help) as a foundation for the steel telescope pier (thanks Goose and Rob)!
This SkyShed POD was generously DONATED to me by the owner of the company, Wayne Parker. I was NOT compensated in any way, nor does he have any say in how I create content about the POD. (He's a pretty awesome guy, actually).
