Walkway ideas on a budget for better curb appeal
If you need either front or backyard walkway ideas, or walkway ideas on a budget, watch how a few simple steps transformed the exterior of this house! You need not spend thousands of dollars to get an amazing new look.
The concrete sidewalk cost was about $800 with an extra $50 for compaction of the stone. The decorative rocks can be quite varied in expense. We used Grey Slate ( @ $175/cubic yard ) which was about $250-300 total. That is the majority of the concrete sidewalk cost - finished. Even on a budget you can transform the curb appeal of a house.
The materials needed are few : 2x4's, concrete, decorative stone, (all of which can be sourced locally) and landscape fabric which can be found at big box stores or Amazon.

We separated the sidewalk slabs which meant we had to make certain that the gravel below the sidewalk slabs was compacted to allow as little movement as possible after the build of the concrete sidewalk.
