Another day in San Cristobal Mexico. We find the best Mexican restaurant ever using a traditional cooking system. The restaurant also has a high trust pay system where you pay yourself and take your own change. I have never seen anything like it before!
An American subscriber has flown out to Mexico to meet me and bring me gifts to help support my YouTube channel and life mission/ Steven joined the Men's Group i run a few weeks ago. He decided to fly over to Mexico to meet me. What made Steven decide to support the channel so generously? He saw that i needed a micro phone and headphones for a live, he provided them. He had heard me moan about the lack of memory on my old iPhone making being a YouTuber challenging so he brought me a brand new Samsung Galaxy S25 with 512 MB memory. Wow , what a kind a man. I have met a few subscribers since becoming a YouTuber but Steven is the first to fly out and meet me. A humbling moment. Follow my day in San Cristobal, meeting steven, going for lunch together and seeing the lovely hotel Steven is staying in.
I was told i was mad for going to live in Mexico. Told it is controlled by gangs and very unsafe. Told I would see dead bodies on the side of the streets. Western governments and media make out Mexico is unsafe. However in my 6 weeks on Mexico i have felt safe at all times. Mexicans seem very friendly and peaceful, very happy to have tourists here. I feel so much safer in Mexico than any UK city.
Walking through St Cristobal at night we take in all the fantastic Mexican culture. St Cristobal is buzzing and full of life and connection. I have found an amazing apartment for £8 a night in St Cristobal, i feel very settled and happy here. As an expat its so important to have a peaceful, calm base, i hate living in hotels not knowing where ill wake up each day. it feels good to settle in St Cristobal for a few weeks before carrying on with my travel adventure after escaping the UK to become an expat living abroad. Lets go shopping and eat some tacos.
