EVACAUATE NEW YORK CITY - The Morning of 9/11 (Documentary 2016)

Throughout history there have been many "where were you when moments" I can imagine a child asking their parents or grandparent, when were you when Caesar came emperor, or when Napoleon was defeated a Waterloo, opr at the end of the first world war, or the second, when Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, when you learned man had walked on the moon. You see, We too have our "where were you" moment.
It's one whose date is permanently etched into the minds of all those who experienced it, or experienced it though somebody. But this is the story of people in the City of New York, on the island of Manhattan on September 11, 2001, its not really a story about the disaster that took place on that day, but the response to it. When the call went out to evacuate New York City.
In World Trade Center Building 5 workers evacuate up to ground level. Some are injured, limping forward, most are of but clearly in a state of disbelief. Keeping the crown moving police officers usher the evacuees outside and away from the towers.
Nearby the firemen plan their approach. having to move across open areas leaving them venerable to debris and people falling from above. As they rush into the towers, workers on the inside are rushing to get out. Moving into the lobby they can see for the first time the destruction just outside when debris is scattered all across the street. Those in the lobby are evacuated through underground tunnels or sky bridges to safety.
High above people are still moving down the stairs, some capturing pictures of the scene inside the twin towers. Some looking down at the destruction outside, others capturing the smoke filling the offices and corridors near the impact zone.
High above is a New York Police Department helicopter approaches the World Trade Center, surveying the damage and capturing some of the most incredible video of the towers burning I've ever seen.

In a heap of smoke fire and rubble Tower 2 collapses at 9:59 AM, sending all those watching the towers into what I think is, fight or flight mode. All around the area New Yorkers run struggling to stay clear of the coming dust cloud. Their shock and horror of the situation in front of them momentarily suspected for a genuine concern for their own safety. Even nearer to the towers, the area has turned into a white ghost land or sirens, and dust and ghostly figures emerging from a distance. Those still inside the still standing North tower now have 29 minutes to escape the same fate.
And at 1;28 AM...
The second dust cloud hits, turning day into night., The area that was the world trade center, decends into a eerie silence.
