John Swinney has been challenged to use extra money his Government will receive from the UK Budget to help reduce child poverty levels in Scotland.

The First Minister had previously committed to mitigating the impact of the two child cap on benefits for families north of the Border if Westminster failed to scrap the policy.

Rachel Reeves has since announced the hated Tory policy will end UK-wide next year - freeing up an estimated £120m for SNP ministers ahead of the Scottish Budget, which will be announced in January.
