A scroll compressor is a mechanical system designed to compress gases using two interleaved spiral-shaped scrolls—one fixed and one orbiting. As the orbiting scroll moves in a circular path, it traps gas pockets between the scrolls and gradually reduces their volume, resulting in smooth, continuous compression. This mechanism provides high efficiency, low vibration, and quiet operation compared to traditional reciprocating compressors.

Scroll compressors are widely used in air conditioning systems, heat pumps, refrigeration units, and HVAC applications where reliable performance, energy efficiency, and minimal noise are required. Their fewer moving parts and absence of suction and discharge valves improve durability and reduce maintenance.
