Kyiv Gunman Fired Shots ‘At Close Range, Made No Contact For 40 Minutes’

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said the shooter fired at close range, giving victims little chance of survival. A negotiator added the gunman made no contact for 40 minutes after barricading himself in a Kyiv supermarket, prompting a special operation. Security Service of Ukraine said the attack is being treated as a terrorist act, noting such incidents are rare in Ukraine.
